Our Story
Memento Mori was founded by Liz and Tom Grace with a simple but powerful intention: to offer personal, uninterrupted care throughout the funeral process. It began when Liz, working as a funeral celebrant, saw how often families were passed from one provider to another—and realised there was a gentler, more cohesive way. Together, she and Tom built a service that plays to their strengths: Liz works directly with families, guiding them with warmth and empathy, while Tom quietly manages the logistics behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly. From planning to conducting, Memento Mori remains a hands-on, family-led service—just as it was from the start.
Our Services
At Memento Mori, we offer a complete funeral service—from the first phone call to the final farewell. We take care of everything: arranging the funeral, conducting the service, and providing celebrancy. Liz is happy to lead the ceremony herself, but if families prefer someone else, we can provide a trusted celebrant who suits their style and values. We also handle all the practicalities a funeral director would: liaising with crematoria or cemeteries, managing paperwork and legal requirements, coordinating transport, organising flowers, music, and printed orders of service. We can even help with obituary writing and memory tables. After the funeral, we’re here to organise the wake too—whether it’s a quiet gathering or a lively celebration of life. Every detail is handled with care, continuity, and respect.

From florists and printers to caterers and venues, we choose partners who share our values and understand the importance of getting the details right.
